Jesus came to this world and shed his precious blood, and made a new covenant. When we simply believe in Jesus, we enter into his covenant of grace. It is characterized by God’s words, “I will…I will.” (Jeremiah 31:31-34 ) It is based solely on God’s faithfulness. It is God’s one-sided promise of blessing. God justifies us and makes us his beloved children by his grace. He gives us the Holy Spirit, who puts his laws in our minds and writes them on our hearts. He gives us desire and power to obey God and bear good fruit as a royal priesthood and a holy nation.
