THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION
(“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”)
1 Corinthians 15:12-34
Key Verse 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
1. Why might some people say that there is no resurrection? (12) If no one can possibly be raised from the dead, what must we conclude about Christ and his resurrection? (13)
2. If Christ has not been raised, what can we conclude about our faith and our lives spent preaching the gospel? (14-15) What does it mean, practically, to be “still in your sins”? (16-17)
3. What is our wonderful hope and inheritance as Christians? (cf. 1 Peter 1:3-4) If this is a false hope, why are we to be pitied? (18-19, 30-32)
4. What does it mean that Christ has indeed been raised from the dead? (20) What does it mean that Christ is the “firstfruits”? What is God’s promise? (22-23; cf. Romans 5:17b)
5. What will the Risen Christ do before restoring the kingdom to God? (24) Who is the last enemy? (26, cf. Hebrews 2:14b-15) How will the creation order be restored? (27-28)
6. How does resurrection faith enable us to be faithful disciples of Jesus? (29-34) Who are bad company? Why is the hedonistic lifestyle the only alternative to resurrection faith?
