By eating Jesus’ body, we are proclaiming his death until he comes (1Cor 11:26). We affirm that we believe in his sacrifice and its power to forgive our sins. We proclaim that we have eaten his Word, the Word that became flesh. So Christ is in us and we belong to Christ.
