At the heart of worry, anxiety and fear is unbelief i.e. we struggle to trust God’s faithfulness and His innumerable promises to provide everything we really need in life. Worrying can even be an idol to us because we place whatever we are worrying about ahead of God. Instead of trusting that God is in control of life’s situations, worrying gives us the illusion that by thinking a lot about our problems, we are somehow in control of them…or at the very least “doing something” about them. So how do we overcome worry and go forward when we encounter such challenges in life? By giving all these things over to God.
