The main goal in giving the mina wasn’t to test the servants’ abilities. It was to test their faithfulness to see who could be entrusted with his riches once he returned as their king. What the king values most is not the money but trustworthiness. What our King Jesus values most is not our abilities or achievements but our faithfulness to Him. Ask yourself: do I take the things He has given me and use them to serve His gospel work? Do I spend my time and energy helping build His church and expanding His kingdom by sharing the gospel with someone near to me? And am I willing to use my life, the greatest God-given resource at my disposal, to serve Him in whatever way He leads me? As 1 Peter 4:10 teaches us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
