Luke 16:19-31
Key Verse: 16:29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’”
1. What are the contrasts between the rich man and Lazarus? (19-21) How did the rich man use his worldly wealth? (cf. 16:9)
2. What was the eternal destiny of each? (22-24) [Abraham’s side refers to the paradise in Luke 23:43; Hades refers to the place to which the wicked dead go to await the final judgment.]
3. What did the rich man ask Abraham? (24) What does a great chasm tell us about the permanence of eternal judgment?
4. Why did Abraham refuse the second request of the rich man? (27-28) What is God’s way of planting faith in men’s hearts? (29) What does this teach about the importance of accepting the word of God? (30-31)
