Jesus Took Up Our Infirmities
Matthew 8:1-17
Key Verse 8:17 “This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.’”
1. What did the man with leprosy believe about Jesus? What was he not sure of and why? (1-2)
2. Why did Jesus first touch the man before healing him? (3; cf. Leviticus 13:45-46) What did this touch mean to the man with leprosy? How else did Jesus help him? (4; cf. Leviticus 14:11)
3. What was unusual about the Roman centurion’s request of Jesus? (6) What did Jesus offer to do and why did the centurion respond? (7-8; cf. Acts 10:28)
