1. Why is it significant that the Greeks sought to meet Jesus? (20-22) What does Jesus mean by “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified”? (23)
2. What is the principle of the kernel of wheat? (24; cf. 1 Corinthians 15:36) What did Jesus mean by “love his life” and “hate his life in this world”? (25) How is this related to serving Jesus and following him? (26; cf. Matthew 16:25)
3. What was Jesus’ personal struggle and what decision did he make through prayer? (27-28; cf. Luke 22:41-42)
4. How did God answer Jesus’ prayer? After his prayer, what vision did Jesus speak of? (31-32) What did Jesus teach about the manner of his death and its meaning? (33)
5. How did Jesus invite people to overcome their spiritual blindness and trust in God? (35-36; 44-46)
6. Why does Jesus not judge those who hear his words but do not keep them? (47-49) What confidence does Jesus have in God’s word? (50) How can we have the same confidence in God’s word?
