BLESSED IS THE ONE WHO PERSEVERES
James 1:1-27
Key Verse 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
1. Who is the author and to whom is he writing? (1) What kinds of trials do Christians face in this world and what should be our attitude toward them? (2-3) What are the benefits of perseverance? (4; cf. 1 Peter 1:7)
2. When faced with trials, what should we pray for and how? (5-8) How are social positions and material wealth trials for believers? (9-11) How is the one who perseveres blessed? (12)
3. Where do temptations come from and where do they lead if we give in to them? (13-18) How can we resist temptations? (cf. 1 Corinthians 10:13)
